Hey All,

I am 24, live in Sydney and have JME.
I am on Lamictal - so my introduction is in the post on Lamictal in the Foyer.

Keeping up with the party life/all nighters/drinking etc has brought back my tonic clonic/grand mal seizures - which are hell. I am now trying to find a balance and trying to force myself to take care of my body because it can't handle as much as everyone else's.

I look forward to getting to know people who are going through the same thing or anyone that feels like sharing their story.

Best wishes
Tanjap.

Nice to meet you.

I find that when I drink or don't get enough sleep I will usually have a seizure.

I know it's hard to be young and seeing every one out partying and you aren't doing it too. You may have to change the way you live your life, but it's better than having a seizure.

welcome to CWE ! i know what you mean about having to live differently than most people your age , been there , done that , but it IS better than the alternative , hopefully taking better care of yourself will improve things for you

Hi, Tanjap,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm so sorry to hear about your TCs.

I agree. It's so hard to be young and not be able to drink with your friends. Take heart, though. I can't drink either. It's taken a year or so but I don't even want a nice glass of wine with dinner any more.

Taking care of oneself is hard, too. Getting to bed on time, eating on time. Hard. I have trouble doing things for myself on time. Do you?
