Since there's a lot of left-pondians on here, I thought you might be interested in this article, after yesterday's frenzy..

I guess it's true you get what you pay for, but a lot of the ultra cheap sub $99 Android tablets have been found to be unpatched against some of this year's biggest security holes, and coming with quite old versions of Android- with no hope of an upgrade :(

"We recommend avoiding these if you can; otherwise, only use them for low-risk activities like simple gaming, media entertainment, and public web browsing. We recommend that you avoid conducting online banking, making purchases or storing sensitive data on these devices – if you do, you will be putting your data at risk."

I do not understand this "Black Friday" and why isn't it Gold Friday.

Congrats

Have you considered a Microsoft Surface :D?

One of the few I can actually do mild work on

Lol I'm with you on that- I was quite surprised at the new versions tbh.

Not gonna be sub $99 though..

.. lol or maybe they are if they carry on gathering dust on the shelves :P

I think 'Black Friday' came about as it's the first day of the year- after many retailers running at a loss all year- when they finally get into the black, and begin making a profit upto christmas..

I do not understand this "Black Friday" and why isn't it Gold Friday.

The day's name originated in Philadelphia, PA, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic that would occur on the day after Thanksgiving.

Use of the term started before 1961 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation was made: that retailers traditionally operated at a financial loss ("in the red") from January through November, and "Black Friday" indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or "in the black"

You could also view it as the day when a black hole opens up and crazy people throw their money in it. lol :)

Lol forgot about the Philly zombie fest :P
