I am both EXTREMELY disappointed & annoyed. I received a list of lawyers who work with SSI/SSDI from my neurologists. We contacted them but may as well have not. ALL of them replied that ALTHOUGH I may be able to receive benefits due to epilepsy, two MAJOR things are preventing me from receiving it.
The ONLY job I ever had before complex partials began was as a cashier in Baker's Square Restaurant, while in high school. I BARELY worked after college graduation, (or more correctly, once my older son was a year old). Thanks to that, I don't have the minimum Social Security credits.
The OTHER preventive issue is that I'm married, & my husband's income. A spouse's income should NOT have bearing on this issue. One person actually suggested, believe it or not, that we get separated JUST so I would qualify!!
