I am new here, but not new to epilepsy. I was diagnosed about 30 years ago with complex partial seizures after having a massive grand mal at work, and have had varying degrees of control since. I've been on lots of different meds, was video-tested to see if I might be a surgical candidate (I wasn't, because they could not locate a focus), and am currently controlled (I think) on generic Topamax.

I decided to join the forum because...well, I'm having some frustrations and I think they may be epilepsy-related. I recently switched to the generic form of Topamax because the brand name was outrageously expensive and I seem to be doing ok, but I have lots of other medical issues, so sometimes it's hard to tell. My seizures are not always that clear-cut (I have lots of sensoral symptoms, and also see and hear things), and have some trouble describing them.

Anyway, happy to be here! I hope to learn some things, and provide some support where I can.

I have to say generic is always cheaper :P it has always worked for me and I never noticed a change from switching to generic but if you think its a problem maybe you doc can give you a discount on the regular brand :) and welcome to the site even though I just joined today :P I enjoy it already and I'm sue you will to :)
