so i have been in hospital and it wasnt my fault for once had 4.4kgs work of ceramic toilet brush holders smash over my head from 2 meters higher than me had a seizure and wasnt epilepsy related was purly due to the incident and now have concussion from it but im not able to find anything on the net to find out about concussions in someone who already has epilepsy does anyone know of anything or links docs havent told me much apart from i will have to talk to my doc about it etc and that im a very lucky women but i feel kinda cut lose and no idea where to go from there....

Ouch! I hope you are feeling okay!

If you don't have epilepsy, a head injury can trigger a seizure and possibly epilepsy.

If you already have epilepsy, a head injury can be a seizure trigger as well, since you have a lowered seizure threshold. So in a way it is epilepsy-related.

thankyou for that yes i already have epilepsy funny enuf or well i guess not so funny a head injury !

Hi naenae, sorry about your accident. I'm sure you're feeling horrible with a headache, to boot. Take it easy and get lots of rest. If you can get in to see your regular neurologist or primary doc, I would do that to discuss your injury. I agree with Nak, it's epilepsy related since it's the E that caused the seizure. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
