I had RNS surgery at the end of January and had all my head shaved for the surgery. My hair is growing back. I actually got a haircut the other day. She didn't do much but just shape it up. I was wondering for those of you had surgery how much of your scar could you see after your hair grew back? I'm a woman so I can grow my hair long or short.

When I have had three surgeries over the years, my hair has re-grown back, but I noticed one particular scar that is difficult to see due to how the hair has grown. I've been taking biotin vitamins for over 10 years to give my hair strength and help it regrow. I've also been trying different products for over 10 years until finding something that would work the best for my health needs. I found a particular shampoo and conditioner that gives my hair strength when used on top of the biotin so I have been getting benefits from both.

I don't worry too much about what others say regarding my VNS or DBS scars, as it just means I'm human and have walked through those parts of life with strength and kept on going.

I wish you continued positive health and wellness on your journey.

Prior to my brain surgery I grew my hair long.
When I had surgery only the left side area was shaved where they did the surgery.

After surgery I could just do a sort of comb over to hide the scar until my hair grew back

Hi Valeriedl,

After I had my 2 surgeries I let my hair grow a little longer but then I had it cut short and it didn't show
any of the scar the only thing that does bother me is I have to have my hair cut less on the right side
because the surgeon took a small piece of the skull bone out so one side looks flatter than the other.
Now I always have my hair parted on the left side so people can't notice it.
Wishing you only the best and May God Bless You!

Sue
