Hi Guys an Gals!

Just letting you all know that I will be off line for the next 2 weeks. :) It's Christmas Break (Yay!) and I don't have internet access at home yet. :) Right now, I feel like a whirling dervish. I'm finishing working on the purses my classes made to donate to the Battered Women's Shelter, and the official Christmas week baking has begun! Last night was 8 dozen german crisps (lemon cookies) and 2 dozen fairy gingerbread. Tonight will be scones and a Christmas cake. Tomorrow will be Chocolate Chip cookies and sugar cookies. (Santa loves the chocolate chip ones, and is begging...) Then of course there's the Mexican wedding cakes/ Russian teacakes, hermits, and gingerbread to make. :) Yay!! I love to bake, and there will be yummy smells of cinnamon, sugar, spices, lemon, and lovely baked cakes and breads coming from the kitchen the next 5 days. With all that going on, I decided to make sure to let you guys know that I will be out. I'll check the site a couple of times today, but then it's Hasta la pasta! So...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May each of your homes be filled with love and peace this holiday season!

Love,
Susan, Anthony, and Abigail

Sounds like a great time

I hope it is for you all.

You will be missed for the next 2 weeks.

Happy cookie-ing! Have a great holiday bake! I mean break.

*whirling in like Taz*

Thank you! :) I'd promise you some cookies, but the last time I made cookies, they disappeared while I was at school! :) Either Santa came early ( they were chocolate chip) or hubby snitched them..(hmmm....he has been looking a bit more stout....and was that chocolate on his breath at breakfast??)

I may complain about the rush, but honestly, I love the holidays...and now that there's a bab;y in the house, it completely changes how I feel. :) Eager excitement even though I realize that at 6 mos, she's too young to remember it all. :) That's what pictures are for. :)

Have a great one people!

PS=I suggest reading the letter "Yes Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus..." to get yourself in the holiday spirit. :) I read it to all of my classes today. The question had been asked earlier in the week if I believed in Santa Claus. I also have some severly Mentally retarded students in my class who still have the innocence of 5 year olds. And some of my other kids were trying to be "grown up" and tell them there was no such thing as santa. Needless to say, the letter was a perfect way to settle the question, get them in the Christmas spirit, and preserve the faith of children. With that, I bid you a Merry Christmas!

Ahhh, yes

BAKING. I have been doing my fair share also.

So far on the MADE list:

Pecan cups, thumbprints, gingerbread men, spritz Christmas trees, Russian teacakes/Mexican wedding cakes, pretzels with melted carmels, brownies with carmel fudge and nut filling and something else that I forgot.

Then there is the upcoming candy cane cookies, biscotti, pizzelles, plus a few others.

Oh and the turkey dinner with all the trimmings---which is tomorrow. Actually, in about 18 hours............*yawn*
