Today is slurpee day! (july 11, aka 7/11. like the store that sells Slurpees)

So go out and grab your slurpees and enjoy!

My home city has been crowned slurpee capital of the world for the 12th year in a row! We sure love brain freeze here! Even in -50C weather I have been known to stop for a slurpee!

:)

I'm guessing that's what we call a Slush Puppy in the UK (yeah I know, silly name lol), never really liked them much.

I did have a Fab ice lolly this morning though. :)
Will eat ice cream or ice lollies any time of year..

Yeah I've been wondering what a slurpee actually is too :P

I prefer ice cream myself, woot! Bugger, now I want ice cream and I don't have any...

I change brands depending on what's on offer at the supermarkets. lol
Cycled to Sainsbury's not long ago (only supermarket open till 11) but nothing took my fancy. Farmfoods is pretty good for ice cream prices for multi pack bars. Heron is even better if you have one and not fussy on choice.
Watching my weight at the moment though so sticking to mostly the juice type ice lollies.

Hi, Rae! :-)
Y'know, today I realized, "Hey, today's 7-11! I wonder how many Slurpees people around the world are consuming?" And after that thought, I wondered, "Hmm, I wonder how many soon-to-be parents are scheduling their delivery dates for 11-11-11?" My brain is constantly clicking & whirring with Cash Cab info, Rae...constantly! ;-)

Slurpees are great and all, but I was really surprised at how many people wanted one at 9:30 in the morning. On the plus side there was a lot more of my favorite coffee available than usual :D

LOVE Cash Cab!! I can go without slurppes though. Too much of a brain freeze :)

Lou & David,

Crush ice in a blender until it is very fine in texture. Add coca cola or mr. pibb or some other fizzy drink and blend briefly to mix.

Put it in the biggest glass you can find. A 32 oz. (about 1000 gram) drinking glass is ideal. In the U.S. we call those a "Thirsty-two ouncer) The lids double as small frisbees. If you don't have a huge glass, find a bucket. Pour the stuff in. Put a straw in it and make slurping noises while you drink it.

Slurpee!
