Hello All, very glad to find this site.
I have seizures from two brain surgeries, one in 1991 and one in 2001. 1st surgery was definitely not needed. Treated successfully by Dr. Burzynsyki in Houston, TX.
Have not driven since black out seizure 3yrs ago while driving approx. 30mph. Could have killed someone. Not planning on driving again until seizures under control. Warning now for involved focal seizure is only about 20 seconds and can progress to Grand Mal. Not enough time while driving.

:twocents: Allison - your mother is an adult but driving and seizures don't mix. Skipping meds is like playing Russian roulette.

Welcome MM

It's always good to have more input here at CWE. Sorry to hear about how your surgeries caused seizures. As for not driving..... I think most this site doesn't drive, myself included.

Also I felt you deserved your own welcome so I gave you your own thread. Meantime have a coffee on the house  and check out all the stuff we got.

Hi Medman,

Welcome to CWE! Glad to have you. :)

:agree: with Eric. Most of us can relate with you regarding the not-driving issue. I also play-it-safe. Never had a license...just "part of life." :e:

Feel free to join right in!
Take care.

Hi, hello

and how do you do? Welcome to CWE! It's very nice to meet you!

You've landed in an AWESOME place here. Mr B has built a GREAT place to hang out, and just BE in. Be sure to check out all the nooks and crannies...there are plenty. There's even a Padded Room for when you really need to vent.

Welcome!

Meetz

Hi Medman -
I agree with you. My daughter is of legal driving age, and has yet to fulfill that dream due to recurrent seizures. Staying med free has been more important, because her quality of life is so much better without them.

Thankfully in most major cities there are other ways to find transportation

Hello medman,
welcome to the board, nice to meet you.
I'm sorry your brain surgery caused you have seizures.
I've only had 3 driving lessons in my life.
Had E all my life.

We are a Heinz 57 here - and I don't mean the Ketchup!

:hello: Medman

So sorry about the seizures and surgery, but I
can totally relate in regards to driving. I had
surrendered my license on my own after having
worsen over the span, and I have no regrets
for what I had done. My Doctors were pleased
with my voluntarily surrendering - they did not
have to confront to me about this.

It can be very tough to get around; but I have
learned to adapt and adjust accordingly.

But please do make yourself a home here in CWE
(PS: that bean bag chair over there is MINE! - LOL)
and feel free to browse around! And as for the
"boys" ---> they're too busy fighting over the
brats (!) and *sigh* - expecting "us" women
to 'serve' them ...

Oh the fun you will enjoy here in CWE as well as
learning much too!

Hi medman, welcome to the forum. :hello:

Hi Medman! welcome to CWE. :) Feel free to read the info here, chime in, ask questions, or just vent when needed. :)

Hi

Welcome Medman! I'm a newbie here too, and glad to have found a place to read up, educate myself on E, and get involved. It's a great comfort to have this place and makes me feel empowered :mrt: and connected to people whom are experiencing the same troubles. And who can't use extra support?
