Hi, I am new here, and seeking advice for my partner who has been epileptic all her life. Hopefully I can have some insight into the path to take with her to reach a working way of life for both of us, as I know it is not easy.
I am new to this, and have taken some time understanding what it means to be affected by seizures.
Thanks for having me. It is great to know there is some help around.
Gem.

You are very welcome to C.W.E. and we are here to try and help you.

welcome to cwe and first off realize that understanding is a big key and when she says some mean things she doesn't mean it it's the pills and the epilepsy.my wife has to go through the roller coaster of emotions with me especially after a seizure.

Hi Gem, welcome to CWE!

CWE was founded by Bernard out of his experience in helping his wife Stacy cope with her epilepsy. CWE members are people with epilepsy, and also their friends/loved ones/caretakers too, so there should be plenty of insight and empathy coming your way.

Best,
Nakamova

Thanks, that brought tears to my eyes! I hope to be a regular here thom.. As I am dedicated!! I am currently suffering from sleep dep, as my partner is... And has been for a long time now, she finds it difficult to sleep with me in the bed, so we take it in turns on the sofa.....

Gem,
I am a parent to a daughter dx'd with epilepsy. CWE has been my comfort. I am still amazed by the wonderful people here!

Are you able to go with your partner to any neurologist appointments? That may help you to better understand what your partner may need and what you can do to be of support. Also, it is nice to have that second person at any neurologist appointment to take notes and be a second set of ears.

Welcome!

Welcome to CWE, the people here are good pillars for knowledge and support. You'll be surprised at how many can relate.

Hi Gem, and welcome to CWE.

I married an epileptic sixteen years next month. I have no regrets.

Thanks Chop, I went to recent neurology appointment yes, and recorded the conversation, just to be clear, but as it happened the doctor was really cool, and explained it all really clearly. He has referred my partner for tests which may lead to surgery.
