My name is Terry I suffer from Clonic Tonic ( grand mal) seizures. I thankfully have mine under control now because I got lucky enough to run across an intern that asked how much I weighed and calculated what my dosage should have been.something none of the other Drs thought of. I currently work as a peer support specialist at a drop in called Justice In Mental Health Organization (JIMHO)

Hi Terry,

Welcome to CWE! I'm happy to hear that you got your seizures under control. I've had E for 45 yrs. and take my word everyone here has been a great help to me. I've had 2 surgeries to reduce my seizures also. I think it's great that you are working as a peer support specialist. I've worked with students in Special Education for 31 yrs. who have learning, mental and emotional problems. I wish you only the best and May God Bless You!

Hi terry c, welcome to CWE! Make yourself at home.

I's great that you're on the right dose now and your seizures are under control. Particlarly with adults, medication dosage isn't always weight-dependent -- small people can require large doses for seizure control and vice versa. The dose can be affected by metabolism, other medications, other health issues, and the individual idiosyncrasies that make epilepsy so frustratingly unpredictable...
 
Hello,no doctor thought do my weight either take that on bord.next time I see doc I talk to him about that
 
I hope that may be the issue for you Seagull but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work as everyone it may be something else.
