Just to say hi, I have been having seizures since January of this year, possible cause head injuries.

Joined for advice and friends who understand what it's like, I would like to give advice once I learn more.

Umm, that's it really.

Lotte.

Hi Lotte welcome. I also had a closed head injury that if not the sole cause of the seizures sure hasn't helped. There are many people here in the same boat so to speak hopefully things will improve for all of us here.

Hi, Topcat. Thank you. Sorry you've had a head injury too. My old GP thought straight away that mine were they cause, I think the last injury in January definitely set them off. I too hope things improve for us all. Until I started having seizures I really didn't how debilitating they were for people, the after affects are awful.

I think quite a few believe it's a seizure, with nothing afterwards. I know I was/still am very un-knowledgeable about them. My heart goes out to everyone that suffers with this.

Welcome Lotte! My seizures were not started by a head injury, but were under complete control for 35 years until I had a head injury in a car accident almost 2 years ago. Sorry to hear about your seizures--I know they are challenging. Welcome to the forum!

Im always happy tok hearar about o ilitythers with same disablity. Mine have come from nowhere and they suck. Ive had it since 16. I think. Ive totaled cars and given up on life many times but as I get older I realize that lifes a bitch. I have grandmal seizures but at least im alive. And everyone here can understand so it helps. Welcome....

Thank you both for the welcomes :)

Oh that's so awful that they were under control for so long and then brought on again by the head injury. 35 years free of them too, I am sorry. I am sorry you both suffer. I think I already said that I really didn't realise how bad seizures were until I started getting them, I suppose like a lot of illnesses no one can empathise until they experience exactly what they are like.

I feel so clueless compared to everyone on here with still being in the diagnostic stage but I do empathise. It's the ill affects afterwards that I find hard coping with.

Hi Lotte,

Although we've spoken already i'm late welcoming you and so lovely to have you with us :rose:
