Hi there,
Just signed up to this site and wanted to say hi! Have had a look at various threads on and off for a year or so now and wanted to say what a great resource it really is.
I started having Tonic Clonics about five years ago when I was thirty and have been on various pills since then to try and get in under control. Have been on Keppra and Vimpat for nine months now and thankfully have not had a seizure like that since (whihc is great).
I now however have periods of about ten seconds, twice a day or more where I cannot speak or understand people (a feeling of the brain pwering down). If I do try to speak it comes out as total gibberish! I am fully conscious and know what is sounds like, so obviously choose not to speak while this is happening! What is worse though is every few days these periods last for about four hours. I can carry out any other activities apart from speech, reading or writing.
Does anyone else have any similar experiences or could give any advice? I am waiting to see my neurologist but waiting lists are long!
All the best to everyone,
N
