After a violent car accident 10 years ago, I suffered trauma to my neck. Back then I started to notice a vibrational sensation in the spine, especially when waking up from sleep, heart jumps and sudden feelings of almost fainting. However I never fainted. Then 10 months ago, I was attacked and thrown into a wall, and suffered trauma to the head and fell to the ground. Resulting in nausea and dizzyness the next 6 days. My left shoulder was also dislocated. After this attack, I have developed seizures that occur every single day, several times a day. The seizures vary in strength. They usually start with a weird taste/sensation in my mouth (or smell). (Twice this sensation in the mouth became a feeling of numbness. This numbness affected the whole throat - or the right side only. At one occation the right side of my head, face and arm got numb. This occured after a series of seizures and lasted a few days). I may also see flickering of lights in the room and "dots" in my vision. Shortly after the taste/sensation in the mouth, I suddenly become dizzy and feel I'm going to faint. Also my heart-rate seems to go up at this point. I become slightly nauseated - and sometimes I just stare and cannot answer if talked to, although I am aware of my surroundings and what is being said to me. (I do not hyperventilate) This can last aprox. a minute or two - and ends in jerking of the whole body, or an arm or a foot depending on the strength of the seizure I guess. The jerking lasts a from a single jolt to a couple of minutes, also depending on the strength of the seizure. The very first times I experienced seizures, I had the seizures start with a jolt from the stomac with preassure up through my throat, head and finally resulting in almost fainting - and violent jerking/shaking. While the seizures are ongoing I may hallucinate. I may look at my arms and they look transparent and the veins look black. I have also noticed the black area in my eyes are huge when this happens. The hallucinations end when the seizure ends. If I wake from sleep IN a seizure, I do not recognize my own bedroom. I do not understand where I am at. This also ends when the seizure ends. When my seizures occur at night, I wake up shaking and bathe in sweat - more or less at the same time every morning. I am totally cramped up and my stomac is in disorder. I also experience having almost full bladder after EACH seizure - even if I have just emptied the bladder prior to the seizure. Lights do not start my seizures - but monitors (TV/Computer) do. Also the motions caused while driving a car, and even walking fast, triggers seizures. Then lastly, stress may trigger them too. I often have tinnitus and reduced memory - memory comes back when I am seizure free with medication. I have had a MR scan (of the head) with normal results - and two EEG's that were also normal. I have had coloscopy, gastroscopy, lung X-rays and normal bloodtests. They say nothing is wrong with me. I do feel that a chiropractor helps to reduce the seizures but they always come back.... a little and a lot about me :)

So so rry to hear that u are going through so much! Sometimes the repoorts and tests are deceiving. If the cause of E is deep seated in brain....................it does not show up in the EEG. Start a diary and keep writing daily about the seizures and the changes in seizures. May be it will take some time, but ur problem will soon be diagnosed, so be in touch with godd neurologist. BTW what all medicines u are having? Keep posting and telling us about the progress in ur case and improvements also. Be strong and dont let the problems annoy u! God bless! Take care!

Thank you for your kind words. It has been a few terrible 10 months. I am still weary and terribly scared. In the beginning I thought I was going to die, but then I realized I survived every seizure haha.... Now I am more concerned about the doctors don't believe me. They claim I am suffering from Psychological seizures, but I strongly disagree. They base that diagnosis from not finding anything clinical. But I cannot give up. Luckily I was given Lyrica and benzo meds at the psychiatric hospital when I first started having seizures. I was having them around the clock, lost 10 pounds in 3 months while not medicated - and lastly admitted to the psych hospital. I was having a near death experience at that point. Then they gave me lyrica and benzo and I gradually returned to normal. Now I am on 75mg lyrica twice a day, that will be hightened to 3 times a day on friday. I also have benzo at home just in case. I don't take them regularly. I have no side effects from Lyrica - luckily aside from a slight constipation - but I am not sure if Lyrica is the right drug in the long run. Sometimes I have facial pains, feels like needles sticking all over, and numbness on the right side of my face, mouth, throat and arm. So the problem must be in the left side of the brain, right? Oh well, I am slowly getting better so I can't complain - I am thankful for being out danger. Hugs! Malla
