Hi, all. I'm a 20-year-old diagnosed with idiopathic generalised epilepsy. Migraine runs on both sides of my family, and I had an uncle who died in a fit, so I was pretty much doomed to it. Mine went undiagnosed until I was 16, but I was showing signs by the time I was 13.

I also have Klinefelter's syndrome (47XXY), which makes me technically male, but I was born ambiguous and the doctors at the maternity hospital made a bit of a mess. I was raised as a girl, but by the time I was five or six, I was thinking, "er, no". In addition, I have schizoaffective disorder, which is basically schizophrenia + bipolar. I may also have some kind of muscle tone problem, but I suspect that that's just the epilepsy.

So, hello! Hope to be able to spread a bit of positivity. c:

Hello, Myshkin :)

Welcome to CWE! I haven't been around much lately, but I've always received a lot of good advice and information as well as encouragement when I've needed it. There are many nice and knowledgeable people here.

BTW, I like your profile picture and name. :)

Hi MYshkin,

Welcome to CWE! Everyone here has been a great help to me and I've had epilepsy for 45 yrs. Just like you I started having migraine headaches when I was a kid and then a couple yrs. later the seizures started up. One thing I have learned is to see a Epileptologist I've gotten more help from this kind of Dr. than any neuro in my area.
Wishing you only the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

Thanks for the warm welcome. :) Porkette, I don't think there are many specialist epileptologists on the NHS. I see a specialist epilepsy nurse, but my consultant is your common-or-garden neurologist.

Hi there you find everyone nice helpful not 100%sure but think Jami Curtis has samething but as I said it could be rumour
