It is wonderful to find this site. It can be difficult to explain to friends and family what is going on when you have such an unpredictable illness; I am hoping to have some questions answered with the help of other members and in turn look forward to helping others feel at ease with their own situation. I have confusion at times with so many symptoms and it did not help having an incompetent Neurologist that necessitated a five and a half week stay in hospital. (I signed myself out before he caused permanent brain damage). Three trips to ICU sorted that out:banana:
Take care all.

Hey Spookz! Welcome!

You've found a great forum. Folks here can relate to just about anything you might have had to deal with, even -- or maybe especially -- incompetent neurologists. I hope you managed to find a better doctor. As with AED meds, it can take a few tries to find the right one...

Best,
Nakamova

Welcome Spookz

I second what Nakamova said about the people here, most everyone can relate to what others are going through re. seizures. Those that can't are very accepting & helpful.

I do know what you mean about confusion. I seem to get it quite frequently but I think that's one of the things that taught me to laugh at myself.

Spookz,

Welcome!

I echo what has already been said. It takes a few tries to find the right neurologist, and the right medication. I've been through the neurologist merry-go-round, too. I've been through three. Third time is the charm (I think). Medications, 4. Forth time is the charm on that one. (Keppra, Topamax, Lamical, Trileptal)

Do you think something was causing your seizures?

Forth time is the charm on that one. (Keppra, Topamax, Lamical, Trileptal)

Really?? 4th time is a charm? Hmm.... I wish that were the case for all of us.

Anyways, Welcome Spookz, I hope you find a good doctor to answer your questions.

Hi spookz...Welcome. New here also and looking for the same as you...answers. Answers, answers and more answers from knowledgable experienced people. I seem to be learning that most people on the drug seem to know more about it than any pharmist or Doc.....

Welcome spookz
I got diagnosed 2 years ago at age 47. It is an overwhelming diagnosis and it is hard to know where to begin. This forum has been a Godsend for me...helps to have others who really understand and can be so supportive. Also, this is great place to learn basis and helps to open door for communication with my doc.
