Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, but not new to E. When I was just out of school and at the age of 22, I began to have t/c seizures. Had about 20-25 and was taking a variety of medications over many years. Lived with my parents for 4 years-fun stuff : ) and tried to get stuff under control. Found out what was important and who my friends were, etc. Then I met a wonderful man who is now my husband. Currently, I am 32 and having s/p seizures and trying to live life without meds (hoping to have kids). I am finding it difficult at times…My epilepsy is hereditary-kept a secret until I began having seizures-Grandma and her brother, who died from one, had it.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi mysunshine! Welcome to CWE. :) We're a really friendly group. So feel free to ask any questions, vent, or chime in when you want. :) Since you're trying to control your seizures without meds, you might want to check out the alternative treatments thread in the library here. Several of us are taking Magnesium and having varying degrees of success with seizure control. Also, some people here are trying EEG Neurofeedback with some success. :) Anyways, welcome to CWE. :)

Hello Mysunshine!

Welcome to CWE board. I hope you enjoy meeting and chatting with everyone as much as I do. You will meet alot of wonderful people. I had petit-mal seizures and tried every med there was and also had a Vagus Nerve implanted. It made the seizure shorter but the same amount happening in a month. So I went to get tests done to see if I can have the brain surgery and they said I was a good candidate and did it on May 22nd of this year. So far no seizures but we will see what happens from here. Take care and nice to meet you. :)

Hello mysunshine. Welcome to CWE. This is a great place to be. Everyone is helpful and friendly. I'm glad you got your t/c's undercontrol and I hope you have success with the partials :)

I was a week away from my due date in my first pregnancy when I had my first t/c. I had been having c/p's all day (but since I didn't know anything about E, I didn't know what was going on)...I spent a week in the hospital on IV dilantin before the docs induced labor. My son was blue when he was born, but is now a healthy active 7 year old. I was on Keppra when I (unexpectedly) got pregnant with my youngest. I was absolutely terrified that the meds would hurt the baby... Luckily, I had a good pregnancy with no seizures and he was born perfectly healthy. He's 2 now, and does not have any ill effects from the meds. So, what I'm saying is even if you can't get the seizures under control, you can still have a healthy baby... You should check into the alternative treatments, that would be an even better solution :)
