I am a 60 year old man. I am having my right hip replaced in 2 weeks. I have been taking Dilantin most of my life foe seizure control. Due to the negative inter-reactions between Dilantin & the blood thinner Xarelto, which is required for 30 days post- op I have to find a safer blood thinner to take with my Dilantin.
ANY SUGGESTIONS OR SHOULD I JUST TAKE THE XARELTO & CHANCE A BLOT CLOT. ----------- THANK YOU. STURG
 
What do your surgeon and neurologist say? They should be able to make a recommendation about the safest course to take.
 
I am waiting for response from the surgery team to discuss this issue with neurologist. So far the neurologist has just responded with possible negative interactions between Dilantin & Xarelto blood thinner.
