I have a 12 year old son with autism. He has started trashing, kicking, hitting, yelling. At first I thought he may be sick because he doesn't communicate well. However, he was not sick and this behavior continued. We spent our time trying to calm him, but it did not work. His doctor took him off Risperdal and put him on seizure meds. He is getting worse. I have to go and check on him now.

It takes the right meds. Sometimes we get better, sometimes worse.

Hang in there,
Sperlo

Hi melissa --

Did your son's doctor explain how the seizure meds were supposed to help your son? Some seizure meds can cause moodiness and anger, so they could definitely be having a negative effect. Let the doc know that the medication is not working out.
