Hi 2 everybody,my name is neil and have had seizures for 18 years now,i find it kind of hard to remember what i was like before if you know what i mean, but i think thats just side effects from the medication.
Stress is a definite seizure starter for me so i know sometimes when they are coming on up to a day before on some occasions.
I found this site whilst googling about, and it seems to be a frank honest forum with a dash of humour to!!!!
Anyway thats my first post out of the way, cheers.

Hi neil129, welcome to CWE!

Loch Ness, eh? Ever seen Nessie swimming about?

Anyway, make yourself at home here, check out all the forums and archives, and post and vent as the mood strikes...

Best,
Nakamova

Glad to meet you! I know I also love this site because the people make you laugh.

I know stress is a definate trigger for me too. I know when something stressful happens I'm almost guarenteed to have a seizure with in the next few days.

Hope you have some fun on here.

Hi Valaried, great you meet you also.Quite intresting how stress sets you off as well, not the greatest thing in thts stress filled world of ours!!!
I was wondering do you ever get the sensation"OH,OH,ONES COMING ON",You get all the physical signs and all the mental and yet nothing happens? I wonder does the brain fight it of some how,or do the anxiety levels not peak.Perhaps i should hane put thi in the kitchen, not sure, anyway thanks foy your post.bye

I usually never know when one is coming on neil. I'll just end up having one and my husband will tell me that I did. I usually blank out during them.

This morning however I had one that I knew was coming on. I got really dizzy, my teeth started to chatter and my lips started to tingle like crazy. I just sat down in the middle of the kitchen floor and waited for it to finish.

Sometimes I will get goofy feelings that I think there might be one coming on but I have a VNS implant (vagus nerve stimulator). I think it may stop them before they hit full strenght.

Hi Neil

Welcome! This site is crazy, insane, mad and I wouldn't want to be any place else. You're going to enjoy yourself here, I do. Welcome aboard!!!

Welcome to the site Neil! CWE is an awesome place. Feels like home even though I don't post all the time.

I've spent some time in the Highlands. Most beautiful place I've ever seen. We went to Oban, Inverness, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye.. and just driving through the mountains. Cullin Mountains were fantastic.. and the fresh spring water, right out of the ground, amazing.

My profile picture was actually taken at Dornoch Cathedral.
