Hey!
My name is Roxanne and i was diagnosed with epilepsy in December 2006, when i was 18 years old.
I had three seizures before i was put on medication and i have now been on Lamactal (lamotrigine) for almost a year. Thankfully i have not had any more seizures since being put on the medication.
As i am new to Epilepsy, and know no-one else with epilepsy, i have all sorts of questions for other people who suffer from it.
I look forward to hearing/speaking to other members of the site and hope i can gain and give information about epilepsy.

Hi Roxanne, welcome to the forum. :hello:

You've come to a great place to ask questions. Make yourself at home here and ask away.

You might find a lot of your questions have been answered already here in the forums. You can use the handy search function or browse through the list of best forum threads.

I'd suggest having a look at the epilepsy 101 thread. :)

Welcome!

Hi Roxanne. I am 46 and have had E since I was 20. It has been a challenge but not the end of my life. I have still been able to have a loving wife, three daughters, two grandchildren, two degrees, a career, and been involved in many, many, many different interests. I am from the great State of Ohio (well at least when spring arrives) and I grow giant pumpkins. Now you know someone else with E.

I hope you enjoy your visits to our home. Pull up a chair and stay awhile.

Hi Roxanne - Welcome to CWE
I am glad that you decided to join us. My daughter was diagnosed at 14. She is now 16. We tried a handful of meds that didn't work for us, and now we are taking her for neurofeedback. We are extremely excited about the results so far.

She also changed her eating habits, and began taking nutritional supplements as well.

I am glad that you found relief with Lamictal.

Hi Roxanne! Welcome to CWE. :) We're a really friendly group, so feel free to ask any questions. :) Also, read the epilepsy 101 thread. It's a good primer on epilepsy.

Hi Roxy,

Welcome to CWE. :shake:

You've certainly found the right place, with the friendliest people, to ask your questions.

So when you're ready, fire away.

Hello Roxanne!
Welome to CWE! You came to the right place to ask your questions. I have met so many nice and great people on here. I hope you do to. Enjoy!

Welcome Roxy! I gotta tell you that you have landed in what I think is one of the best sites out there for info and comradery. Try to remember that although you have E you can control the power it has over you. I also know of E in my family but then I also am the only lefty. Of course being left handed is easier than E but then again unique is unique!
