Hi! My name is Michelle and and have been lingering for awhile and decided to start posting. I'm 23, and have had Epilepsy since I was 13. I currently see an epileptologist, but they aren't really sure what kind of E I have. I have tonic clonic seizures, and the majority of the time I go into Status. I am blessed with 2 very healthy little boys, ages 5 and 2. For the last 9 years I have been on Dilantin. I recently switched my meds to Topamax, and had one seizure in the process. I have a lot of anxiety about my epilepsy, and was trying to find a place for support and after reading some post on this site, ya'll seem like the place to be! :)

Hi Mishela! Welcome to the site! :) Feel free to ask any questions or vent if needed. Wow! 2 boys! They must keep you hopping! :) Anyway, welcome. It's good to have you here. :)

Hi Michelle,

My name is Michelle also! (georgiagirl) Welcome! This site has been so helpful and really encouraging. I understand the anxiety thing..my seizures for the most part are nocturnal complex partial seizures. I do have some minor ones in the day. Staring spells..dizzy. But my night ones are really weird ones. Horrible! When they are bad my anxiety is awful for a day or so. I am so wiped out, physically drained the next day.I can barely move and just want to cry! Part of it for me is the worry of the unknown..my mind will go crazy with worry because I am in a weakened state of recovery from the seizure. Anyways... I'm a Mom of two teens and I am 41 yrs. old. I think you will really find this site helpful! Glad you're here!!

Michelle : )

Welcome Michelle

Make youself a home. Lots of friendly folk around these parts!

Hi Michelle, WELCOME to CWE

My daughter started having seizures when she was 14. She is now 16.
I hope you find some good reading material here to consider. Make yourself at home.
I am glad that you decided to join us.

Welcome Michelle. I sure hope you find some answers here. I know you will find plenty of support. It sounds like you checked us out a little before you joined, I think you made a good choice to jump in. We all learn from each other. The more members, the better.

I have been on dilantin (now the phenytek time-released version) for 26 years. I know how draining it can be. Good luck with your new med.

Hug those little ones for us. I have two grandchildren and I love them with all my heart.

Hi Michelle, welcome to the forum. :hello:

I'm glad you decided to join and say hello. I think you will find that participating is much more rewarding than just reading anonymously. :)

Hi Michelle!
My name is Danielle, and I am new as well. Nice to meet you. I have been diagnosed with epilepsy since age 10, and I am 26 right now. So, I know exactly how you feel. It's an absolute terrible experience to go through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. But, through the years I have learned the best thing that will help me from having so much anxiety about this is to pretty much just have faith in God. Trust me, it's helped out a lot!

I lingered a few days before I started posting about my daughter as well. It's a nice way to figure out the dynamics of the people without getting too involved. As I am very new to E. I'll let everyone else give you advice. I'll just offer a sympathetic ear. Welcome.

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcomes! It really is great to be surrounded(virtually) by others who can relate to me! I've felt so isolated for so long.
