Hi I'm Actually Back!! Why I Was Gone So Long...

I won't lie. I have been avoiding this board.

I know that I have E, I got the diagnosis, but I do not have insurence /money to get it treated.

So been trying to push it away, so I don't have to deal with it. Well I had a BAD one in public a couple days ago while out buying dog, bird and fish foods.

Then I got online tonight to check my email and saw that in my email, BRAIN had requested we be friends. Well thank you BRAIN :D
that made my day that you guys are still thinking of me.

I had signed up to see a free docter before Christmas but never heard back. Well, I called again today and things should be getting going soon so that I can get that mobile EEG that was supposed to be in the works by now.

I will honestly try to be better about hanging around. It's just hard to be here when I don't have anything to contribute.

It also brings me down to read how everyone here is getting some help and/or treatment and then start crying again because I don't feel like anyone(DR's) care. Without insurence I am nothing to them.

So instead of pitying myself it has been easier just to ignore it and push it away. Not good but the truth.

Good to see you back

I know when I was younger I went through a denial thing with my meds. That was what caused my first tonic/clonic.

I think it's something we all have to go through to come to a realization of how this is just a part of us.

There are a lot of doctors that don't give a hoot for their patients & now that I"m moving I might have to go through some of those before finding a good one, but we'll see.

In the meantime, welcome back.

Welcome back Moonchild! Your contributions are always valuable to us. Hopefully the eeg thing will help you find some success against this disorder.

Have you been able to use any of the toll-free phone numbers from drug companies posted in here? They may be of assistance to you for expensive medications.

I have to also thank Brain. She was on my case as well.

Welcome back Moonchild. I hope things smooth out for you, and the doctor you see is helpful in terms of figuring things out.

I didn't know you could just choose a drug without a dr's consent. And I haven't gotten that far yet.

You can get FREE or low-cost medical care through the Hill-Buton Act which assists people with medical expenses, unable to pay them. It’s only for people of limited financial means. However, if you Google “Hill-Burton Act” or go to http://www.hrsa.gov/hillburton/ you’ll find a gold mine of information about who qualifies, which facilities are obligated to provide free or reduced-cost health care and how to apply.

In Washington State, there's the Kitsap Community Clinic in Bremerton.

Then there are the Health Care Authority funded clinics, http://www.chs.hca.wa.gov/clinics.html including the Spokane Community Health Association, with locations at:

The Denny Murphy Medical Clinic, 1001 W Second (509) 444-8200...
The Northeast Clinic 4001 N. Cook St. (509) 444-8200...
The Maple Street Medical Clinic 3919 North Maple Street (509) 444-8200
The Deer Park Medical Clinic 401 S. Maine (509) 434-0292

And here is a link for FREE Presription Drug Assistance (There are many resources!)

Hope this helps!
