hi im alex from reading (englnd) just joined up (not sure what to say). iv had eplepcy for around ten years. was first tryed on eplim. then lamictal and now the evil keppra whitch is haveing a realy bad effect. iv got a good family behind me but doc's, family ect can only understand the medical (realy hard to know what is going on in my head. just hope people know what im talking about!! what is realy anoying is if i say something people dont like they dismiss is as the keppra! i still do have rational thorts :rock:

do have a good life out side all the nasty stuff thow

Oh, and as for Keppra. It's known to cause something called "Kepprage"--and many people have found that taking a bit of Vitamin B6 helps ease that, and makes their moods/rages a bit more even.

Hi Alex, welcome!

The folks here definitely "get it" about epilepsy, so let loose anytime with venting or questions, or whatever the mood strikes you for. We have some other members in the UK, so you're in good company. How's the snow there right now?

sorry bud, no snow left (no skiing for me) realy glad people "get it" have a beutfull wife and dauters but right now just feel so alone. can be realy hard to keep happy but if i keep busy i tend to be ok. keppra has got so bad they are taking me off it!
 
thanks meetz. they are taking me off the keppra because of the effect it has had on me, thanks for the advice thow, i apreciate it.

Hi Redskins18! You have found a wonderful place to be here at CWE. My son has epilepsy and all of the wonderful people here have made me feel much better about everything. My son is also on Keppra and had some very bad effects on him at times but since he has been on it awhile they have seemed to go away for the most part. I couldn't help but notice your name. Being that I am from the Washington D.C area here in USA I was wondering are you a Redskins fan? Just curious..lol
 
that realy nice to heer. im glad he is doing well. keppra can be a real strain on the family tho the point i am now being taken off it!

as for your question i think i am the only epileptic redskins fan in reading (england). just waiting for the glory days to return!!
 
Wow! You are a Redskins fan from so far away! I applaud your dedication!

How did you come to be a fan? I mean, the Redskins as opposed to the Bears, or the Broncos.... :)
 
dont realy know to be honest. went to some games in britain (yes we have a league and college football too) as i was growing up just got watchin the skins. when they beat the bills in super bowl 26 just kept supporting.

sadly my wife is a vikings fan (almost perfect.... but not quite)
 
I think that is so awesome! I am a Ravens fan myself but I still route for the Skins at times :)
 
Ravens are good, no great rivelrey between us. if you were a cowboy.... your defence is aawesome!! can be realy painfull supporting da skins, brining in a certain past it eagles QB. big mistake!! guess ud b a colt if they had stayed
 
I grew up in the DC area, and was a fan then (we're talkin' way back during the Kilmer/Jurgenson/Theisman years). Now I'm up in new England, so the Patriots are the team of choice. I still root for the 'skins though. They seem to have lost their way over the last few years...
 
they went down hill almost strait after there super bowl win over the bills. jack kent cook had the best intrest of the club (new stadium etc) if he stayed incharge things would defently be diffrent. but then dan "the devil" snyder took over for his own intrest and messd the whole club up. such a historic club totaly wrecked. guna take years to put the damage right.

pats are so good because the organitaion is so good. owners bring the club forward financialy and in business, but leave the football to the coaches and players! its the only way to run a club
 
The Pats had their shaky years too. They were pretty lucky to make it to the Superbowl in '82 given some major issues with team morale and drug use. But they are definitely on an even keel now. Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?
 
:rock:sorry but has to be the steelers... i think they diserve it more, tougher rought to the super bowl and just played smart... saying that the packers did good! now iv wrote that im not sure!!

930pm in uk and feeling depressed again, stoped the keppra now but i think the side effects are gunn stick around a bit... still got the super bowl to look forward to, and the best wife and kids to support me!!

Yes, I'm ambivalent too. I'm leaning towards the Packers, because the Steelers were the arch-enemies of the Redskins once; also I'm not a fan of Roethlisberger's off-field behavior...

i understand how you feel about the keppra ive been on it for two years now. at first it helped me but then my body gets used to it n the have to keep uping it. not to mention im always tired and depressed and in a bad mood. idk wat to do about it

I'll root for the Steelers any day over the Packers.........
