sorry to hear everyone above re: docs/neuros not knowing what to do when it comes to your thyroid. how disheartening! sounds like they missed a few days of school on that one, is a simple thing to learn about as it's one of the main directors of our entire body. can't believe they didn't know what to do 
level testing is to be done minimum once a year due to seizures and sz meds. my regular gp started it after first grand mal, and both thyroid and diabetes are always on the req. along with iron levels, white blood count etc. anything that can be affected by such strong meds as well as stress (pretty common for those with e ey)... needs to be kept an eye on... which a regular doc should know but especially a neurologist.
