Okay... I had to tell everyone I know, and since I know you guys I had to tell you too!

Me and Chad just won an all inclusive trip for 2 to the bahamas! *there were 20 to pick from and I only remember 3 so until we see the others this is our pick*

EEEEEE!

One question, seizures and trips? Anyone been to the bahamas? Anything I should keep in mind?

Wow! You lucky dogs!!!!! Need someone to carry your luggage? ;)

Never been to the bahamas. Is it TexasMommy that had a post on travel (hers was disney world). In it I posted some links to tips on flying for people with epilepsy.

The "what won't your doc let you do" string has a spirited debate on swimming and scuba diving. Probably applies to your trip.

Hey, are you on meds that make your skin sensitive to the sun? (I've heard that Tramadol, Tegretol, Lamictal can make some people more sensitive to the sun. There may be more meds that do the same.) If you are I'd get a spray on tan plus SPF 100 and slather it on.

You are gonna have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! You can honeymoon there...

Oh, what

FUNNN!!!!!!!! Yup, I've been to the Bahamas, and on a cruise before. That was a ball!!! Mmmmmm, use anything that is HIGH in the SPF department. As high as possible for that matter--especially if the drugs you're using cause you problems in the sun. That was my ONLY problem.....I had a reaction in the sun, and even though I had a really high SPF waterproof lotion, it still wasn't enough. I turned into a lobster with white polka dots all over......it was an INTERESTING sight!

I didn't go scuba diving, I didn't feel comfortable doing that. But I did go swimming.........and had a blast there.

As for flying.....well, that would depend on how long your flight is. I don't generally have problems on planes--I just make sure that no matter what time zone I'm in, I still stick to my med schedule.....

HAVE A GREAT TIME, RAE!!!!

Yay congratulations to both of you!

:wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

I bet you're going to be so excited!

I wouldn't mind going to the bahama's sometime. It looks soooo prettty :D

Congrats Rae,

Is there a set day for you to go? :woot:

Won a trip to the bahamas? In exchange for being hostage for a day or two for a hard sell on a timeshare perhaps? I'd suggest using Google to investigate thoroughly the company sponsoring the trip/contest.

med bracelet

I always make sure to wear a med bracelet that says my disorder and the amount of meds that i take daily.

Congrats! I haven't been to the Bahamas in years. You'll have lots of fun. I highly recommend the strongest sunscreen you can buy though. The sun is very hot. I had my hair braided and got a sunburn on the top of my head! It peeled a week later. Quite embarrassing to see flakes in my hair!

Even if it is to see a timeshare, just listen to the speal for 90 minutes, firmly say NO, and walk out.

We're cruising to Bermuda in July. Can't wait!

The first time I went anywhere near the Caribbean (to an island called Margarita -- for real!) I drank too many Cuba Libres and got dehydrated and knocked out by the sun. So pace yourself and drink plenty of water.

Lol I already wear SPF 80 during the regular summer days because I am so white. lol I'll have to find higher then

Totally our plans. we are scrapping egypt for a free trip

How would I work that? say I take it at 9pm every night, would I take it at 9pm bahama time? or 9 pm my time?

Congrats Rae,

Nope. We can schedule the trip anytime from now to 18 months down the road. no black out dates.

Thats what I thought too at first, and I asked and she assured me that there would be no time share at all. Its just a "gift" to the winning bride and groom.
Its sponsored by a local travel company in Brandon. and we can choose to stay at the Rammada, Mariot or the Holiday inn resorts

Thanks! didnt think of that!

I did that while in mexico. not fun. because the braids started to hurt!

Even if it is to see a timeshare, just listen to the speal for 90 minutes, firmly say NO, and walk out.

Totally. We did that in mexico once. some guy off the street advertising lured us in with the promise of a free bottle of tequila, Kaluha and a mexican blanket, all we did is listen to the speal and say no. lol they were not impressed. lol

lol I also did that in mexico. drank pina colodas for breakfast and then had the worst flight home. so dehydrated and sick. But I dont think I can drink on Dilantin. I havent checked, but I also havent drank until I can make sure that Im not gonna cause some scary deadly reaction.

I now have to get my bikini body back!

ha ha! I went to this promotion thing. great show! and great products. so I did a bridal registry through them. You would not believe what these pots and pans can do unless you see them in real life. I was floored!

but... I totally won a second trip through them! 5 day 4 night carnival cruise! yay!

Congrats! You're on a roll! Now go buy a megabucks lottery ticket...

Congrats Rae, Hope you enjoy the warm weather! Personally I'd hang on to the package until its back to being Winterpeg out there.
BTW Quit sending me your weather! Its snowing in MTL right now and May is Saturday  ... WTF!!!!

HA HA!
well we have 70km winds right now, and thunderstorm brewing. tornado season is among the praires.

WOW! You guys are going to have a great time! I had to postpone my 25th wedding anniversary to Playa de Carmen due to my hospital stay and diagnoses. You guys have fun for all of us and please provide pictures!!!!!!!

Take extra precautions around the water. Even if you aren't normally photosensitive spending hours watching the suns moving reflection a million different ways can cause problems. Dark sun glasses would be a good idea
