Hi there, my husband is epileptic. I knew about it before we started dating and dived right into it. We've been together for 3 years and just like every single person here..there are good days and bad days. Medically he is doing great, he is on epilim and he takes pride with the fact that his only side effect is hair loss. He suffers from partial seizures and is very good at hiding it. Ive signed up here because Im looking to chat with people who are in rships with epilepsy sufferers, who i hope can reassure me by saying 'nope your not crazy...its normal to feel like jumping off a building'

Hello and welcome to CWE. It is filled with caring, knowledgeable and kind-hearted people. I am the mother of a 14-year old daughter dx'd with E and have found CWE to simply be THE best place to ask questions, network and not feel alone.

Hi NOT, welcome!

As you probably know, this site was founded by Bernard, whose wife has epilepsy. So CWE is all about helping the ones we know and love (including ourselves) to cope with E. I hope you feel free to explore the different forums here and post/vent/chat.

Best,
Nakamova

Hi NOT and welcome to CWE,

First of all, I'd like to say, I'm not an epileptic, either. I am a person who suffers from epilepsy. I've had SP, CP, and TC seizures for over 30 years now.

Hello,

Its great that you have taken the time to log into CWE in order to learn how to best support/understand your husband and what he is going through. I am married to a wonderful man who also knew about my seizures from the very beginning. He gets scared and knows when I am hiding symptoms but he is very supportive and that means the world. Your husband is a lucky man!

Again, Welcome to CWE!

welcome not!
you'll find everyone here open and kind feel free to ask questions.
mike
and welcome once again

Well, II

do have E, but so does my partner....so I have both sides of the equation going here. :) So, yeah I can understand where you're coming from!

Welcome NOT - I am a caregiver also.
It is a tough road, but for me I have learned quite a bit about life from my daughters seizure disorder. I think for our situation, the biggest lesson was the role that nutrition plays in illness. Many don't want to go that route, and they search for an easy fix, but for us it has been a life saver. My daughter is seizure free at this time and med free. Life is smooth at the moment.
