Thanks to a computer savvy daughter I have found this wonderful place to share some my experiences with temporal lobe epilepsy. I am 60, and my first seizure was a t/c at age 30. After my mother was asked over and over about any possible injuries as a child, the doctors finally accepted that they had no idea why they started when they did. (possibly hormones?, I had just had a baby). The only other t/c's I've ever had after that was a doctor that wanted me to go off my meds cold turkey to perform an eeg and I ended up in neuro intensive with status epilepticus. Several years later I had a depth electrode eeg that showed I was not a candidate for brain surgery (long story). So,now I've been ten years without driving (3 accidents, thankfully without injuries) and sometimes I feel so dependant on others. I'm on keppra, lamictal and vimpat but continue to have may deja vu and several times a month I have complex partials that leave me totally out of control for about 10 to 15 minutes They come in groups and my husband always want to know if I'm having agood day or a bad day. Any positive advice?
