Thanks to a computer savvy daughter I have found this wonderful place to share some my experiences with temporal lobe epilepsy. I am 60, and my first seizure was a t/c at age 30. After my mother was asked over and over about any possible injuries as a child, the doctors finally accepted that they had no idea why they started when they did. (possibly hormones?, I had just had a baby). The only other t/c's I've ever had after that was a doctor that wanted me to go off my meds cold turkey to perform an eeg and I ended up in neuro intensive with status epilepticus. Several years later I had a depth electrode eeg that showed I was not a candidate for brain surgery (long story). So,now I've been ten years without driving (3 accidents, thankfully without injuries) and sometimes I feel so dependant on others. I'm on keppra, lamictal and vimpat but continue to have may deja vu and several times a month I have complex partials that leave me totally out of control for about 10 to 15 minutes They come in groups and my husband always want to know if I'm having agood day or a bad day. Any positive advice?
.

Welcome to C.W.E. Positive advice, well to be honest the best thing I can say is even I am very lucky to have someone who cares. Still gets to you sometimes. I am asked the same question twice a day, in the morning when I get up and when I am going to bed - these times are a guarantee. Some of the time I ask my wife what kind I am supposed to be having (usually in bad form) other times, much the same as you. But then again I would be lost without her. Any advice you want, just ask the question and we will try and answer.

Sorry about this, I just came across a piece you wrote introducing yourself, so if you do not mind I asked Bernard to move it. cazzy I would like to say welcome to you as well.

Thanks for reminding me that I have a person who loves me so much that he is a little too protective (even though he knows I'm going to get aggrevated by his behavior)

Hi kathya410, welcome to CWE!

I hope you feel free to explore the different forums here and post. There's a lot of good info to be found here about meds, as well as alternative treatment approaches, and of course, great empathy and support as well.

Best,
Nakamova
