I know. It's only 6 weeks bût a milestone nonetheless. And in yoga class I had two gibberish noise complex partials and then collapsed to the floor in status tonic clonic seizures ( I was aidedby my girlfriend to not get hurt. She is the yoga teacherand calmed everyone. )Went to ER cat scan showed no stroke (we did this because after seizure I had no strength in left side of body. Drooping cheeks I was told. And could not clench to hand off the doctors hand. I called the Edoc in Seattle he recommended to increase the depakote from 500 to 750. And if the side effects are worse then try just increasing the lamotrigine from 150 to 250 and see. I have an appointment with him later this month so I be there. Is this just another round to see if the side-effects are bearable?

Sorry you had a seizure, hope the med increases gives you even longer seizure free time.

Hi Janus,

Sorry about the seizure. I know when I was taking the brand name of Depakote (Depakene) the high the dosage the more seizures I was having. You may want to find another seizure med, or have the neuro cut it back and see what happens. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Hi Janus,
I am so sorry to hear about your recent seizure. My heart goes out to you.
I have been on Depakote ER for 14 years and seizure free all that time (very, very blessed, I know!). My history is grand/petite mals since I was a baby. In the last year I have begun hand tremors that my neuro says are from a higher blood level and a known side effect. I have the nausea after most doses, some weight gain and now some hair loss, all of which I would gladly put up with to not seize. My doc wants to switch me to Keppra but I am dubious.
By the way, I love the teachings of Alan Watts
Good luck and repost.
Laurie
