Hello,
My name is Maegan and I am 19. I am a mother of 2 and was just diagnosed with Epilepsy I have Partial Complex seizures. I am looking to make some friends or find people to chat with who can relate to what I am going through. I am currently on 1000mg of Keppra and doing good so far just dealing with depression. I have alot of anger issues and its affecting the relationships in my life. I was wondering if anyone has some of these symptoms. I am constantly tired, dizzy, nauseated, throwing up, I get alot of cold and hot flashes and my temper is very short fused. I feel very alone in everything I am going through. Thank you for taking time to read this.

I understand how you feel as a mother, as I have 3 kids under the age of 6. I have been dealing with seizures for a long time but they only recently have started treating them with Keppra when they got worse 5 months ago. I have simple partial seizures mostly but I sometimes forget what happens to me but I never lose consciousness.
The depression for me was huge. I still struggle with it.
I had to deal with the seizures all unaided because they didn't think they were real. But now they do so I can only go forward from here.
We have the same dose of Keppra. It's only helping decrease things by 2/3rds for me so my journey has just begun.
It affects everything in your life. The dizzy spells with Keppra are awful but it is starting to decrease a bit but sometimes I get so dizzy I can't do anything but lie down in bed/floor or wherever. I hear it's the worst for the first month.
I'm sorry that you feel alone. I have a supportive family and a loving husband but he has to work so I am left alone with the kids just struggling to get by somedays. Especially since I can't drive anywhere because they took my license of course. Thank goodness for television for kids when I'm having a bad day. Thank goodness they are adaptable. Moreso than me!
I know what you mean about a short fuse. We have alot to deal with on a daily basis. It's really hard to be all sunshine and roses when somedays all you can do is get by and hope that tomorrow is a better day.
I know how you feel.

I have simple partial seizures and take Keppra XR 3000mgs a day. For me, the medication has worked wonders! One thing to try when taking Keppra is to take Vitamin B-6. For me, Ive noticed I just feel overall better than I did before without taking it. Its suppose to help with your mood changes that Keppra can cause. I totally understand where youre coming from. Im a mom of three little boys, ages 7, 6 and 5 yrs old. It can be hard dealing with seizures and taking care of little ones. If there is anything I can do to help, just let me know. Hang in there! :)

I am still having a hard time figuring out this site. Can you ladies send me a friend request on Facebook?
