i found this site from the internet, i was diagnosed back in 2004, although the last few years i would only have a few a year, usually at night always at home.Until i was in an auto accident(not my fault)last December, just before Christmas, i was rear ended and sammiched between 2cars.I drove a coool old car and its a total loss. i have been seizing a few times a week since. My neuro increased my meds, took my license away till i am seizure free for at least 6 mos.Talk about having my life turned upside down again, excuse the expression it sucks! i have been reading different posts for over a week as a non member as i am having bad side effects from Keppra, it makes me paranoid,i'm emotional, i hear voices at night, makes me dizzy, sometimes i think i'm just plain going crazy, i have to keep telling myself its the meds. Thanks for this website! makes me realize i'm truely not alone. My Doc has been steadily increasing my doses to try and control the frequency, i have no apetite either on this stuff. I know in my sole things will get better, it just takes time to figure it out.

Hi there, and welcome to CWE, you came to a great place.
And that's right you are truly not alone. We're all here for the same reason, and regardless of what you need to say, or ask, there is always someone (or dozens of us!) to answer. You'd be pretty hard pressed to want to know something or hear from someone going through what you are, and not find it.
And, the specialists work for you, not the other way around. If Keppra is making you wonky and you can't stand it, request another drug rather than continuation of upping the dose.

So glad you joined, and keep in touch.
(hugs right now for the license - been there a few times and yeah it sucks bad, but pls take it from me, if you can stay positive that six months goes pretty fast).

Welcome seizing more,

I'm sorry you're having a bad time with seizures and meds. Sorry about that accident, too. I agree with you, tho, life does suck at times, so hopefully you will get on the right track with your meds and seizures.

A lot of folks do have bad emotional side effects from Keppra, so make sure you let the doc know about the side effects, especially the "hearing voices". That could possibly be a simple partial seizure or an aura.

Sorry to hear about the car accident...it sounds like driving was truly a joy for you too.
I have been on Keppra for a month and I'm discovering that it makes me dizzy, emotional and I really don't have an appetite either.
Some side effects though one shouldn't have to live with!
I sometimes feel like what is worse? The seizures, or the cure? But fortunately there is more than one drug out there!
I hope that they get things under control for you soon and that you'll be able to cruise the roads once again.

be patient, you will find the right combination that will work for you. I happen to be a Keppra user (along with the rest of the cocktail of meds that I take) and have not had the problems that a lot of other people have. Keep shopping around. You'll find something. Best of luck!

Hi seizing more, just want to add my welcome to others!

Best,
Nakamova
