i got admitted with suspected appendicitis... but it turnt out to be a burst cyst on my ovary i had a laparoscopy and now feel like a balloon full of air :( very painfull but im on the road to recovery ...

im out of hospital again but for how long who knows ...

my surgeon came and saaw me after the operation and told me anything she touched i just bled
and said she thinks i have von-willebrands which is a clotting problem :(

so in the next couple of months ive got :
:- video eeg 4 day recording
:- haematology appointment
:- neurology appointment
:- gynaecology appointment
:- and my neuro-pysch follow up :(

my second home is the hospital ... never mind .... cant get much eh :ponder:

Wow, you've been through a lot! I hope you feel better soon, and can get out of the hospital.

Do you have PCOS? The syndrome often occurs with epilepsy, and causes ovarian cysts.

ANSWERS whoopie.... maybe not the ones you want, but answers nonetheless. Now you can start getting better as you face each one and at least know the reasons why :) a blessing. A sigh of relief for you. There are many great websites with info on PCOS. Many body functions affected, all interrelated. Have they checked your thyroid?

Honey, relax and get plenty of rest. Your body will be working hard to recover. Eat lots of protein and healthy vegies. Take your vitamins. Don't overdo it. Give yourself a good month to recover completely. Heal from incision and regain your strength. Don't be surprised if even the littlest things exhaust you (like one load of laundry). When you lose blood, it takes a month to build back up. Take iron if its not contraindicated with your other meds or diagnosis... or eat foods high Iron.

Take care :) glad you checked in

Yeahhhh you're out of the hospital and back!!!

And wow another load to deal with :(

Rest and take it easy. /huggs

Wow jayde. You have been through soooooo much. It must feel like your body is against you.
I'm glad you're home. Sometimes being home and recovering is an issue all by itself though.

I hope you're coping ok and that you aren't in a lot of pain or anything.

Von-Willebrands? It's amazing how this issue hasn't presented itself earlier! But I guess when you have so much going on it's hard to put all the pieces together.
Stay strong and take it easy!

Well ive had all the symptoms of it for years but just thought they were "normal" wasn't until i was on the operating table my surgeon found that my blood doesn't clot right :/ so could have been bad

The pain isnt great but Im coping with it ... Its the sickness and sweating from the two antibiotics Thats killing me at the moment :(

Im a bit of a stubborn person and Dont go drs for little things ... Like when i get a period i have to use both Tampon and pad cause i bleed so much for like 11-12 days that should have been my first warning i always get nosebleeds out of the blue .. Its just little things you cope with .... I would have for to the hospital before the cyst burst if i hadn't left it till i was in agony to go drs for it ....

And yes ive sat and cried about my health so much .... It gets me down alot ... But to people on the outside i look fine Im doing fine and Im healthy and happy ......but on the inside Im scared fragile broken and really fed up

But hey we plow on Dont we :)

Hi jayde -- it's okay to be fed-up and scared on the outside too -- you don't always have to put on happy face if you're not feeling it. Don't be afraid to ask for help from others.

Here's some info about PCOS and epilepsy you might be interested in:
Why does polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) often occur together with epilepsy? This is actually a very complicated issue. We know that epilepsy is associated with abnormalities in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, which is how the brain and ovaries communicate. Normally, the hypothalamus in the brain releases hormones that act on the pituitary gland, which then releases hormones that stimulate the ovaries to produce estrogen and progesterone. Both seizures and anti-epileptic drugs can alter this pathway. This syndrome causes ovarian cysts, irregular menstrual cycles, and excess body and facial hair. It's usually associated with obesity and sometimes people will have diabetes.

I'm really glad you both shared because my mom had PCOS a couple years younger than I am now, I'm 41. I didn't know it was genetic or showed up more in epileptics. I went into perimeno when I was 35 and am glad I have my annual gyno this month - I have alot to tell him!

ty both a ton!
