It was 2005, I was 30. I've never had a seizure before. We were picking our oldest daughter up from school, the baby was in the car seat and my wife went in. The last thing I remember is my wife stepping up on the curb and the next thing I see is all these paramedics standing over me asking the year and all that. :(

All my childhood I had space out moments, staring at one spot on the wall for long moments. We just attributed that kind of behavior to my PTSD (sexual abuse by neighbor) or something. But, now, who knows...

This place seems awesome and very informative, I am most definitely happy I found it!!

Hi there

Foreverdark! I just wanted to let you know, I started a separate thread for you, so you can have your own personal welcome! :)

Welcome to CWE! We're happy that you found us, too!! There is plenty of information in the Library and in the Kitchen. And, if you really need to vent, feel free to check out the Padded Room........trust me, we've all been there a time or two.

I'm sorry to hear of your personal experiences with the seizures....I've had plenty of experience myself, I've had E for almost 45 years, so I do understand. None of them are pleasant, and perhaps it would be beneficial for you to start an E journal to try to find the triggers that may be causing your seizures to happen in the first place. If you'd like suggestions as to what to put in that journal, let me know....I have a pretty good list.

Feel free to ask questions, and kick up your feet, and just hang out. We'll be here for ya, no matter what. If we don't know the answers to the questions, we'll try to point you in the right direction to get the answers.

Good luck, and take care.

Welcome Foreverdark.
I am glad that you stepped out so we could welcome you properly.
Sorry though that you are having to deal with this. Psychogenic seizures can also occur due to past events, however they can also occur along with epileptic seizures. However yours are exhibiting themselves, it is a neuro issue, and needs to be addressed.

Do you have good medical care? Have they ruled out any abnormal brain function?
Neurofeedback has had some wonderful results with seizures as well as psychological distress. You might check into this therapy. We did it with our daughter with wonderful results. Life is looking up here for Rebecca.

There are a lot of great articles in the Library. I highly suggest that you take a look when you have some free time. Well worth the investment.
