Hello,
I'm new to the forum and new to epilepsy two years erstwhile.
I'm an autodidactic, polymath, fine-artist From Seattle living in The Netherlands. I come from a long, long line of Architects Classical musicians inventors and artists. I have VERY strange auras prior to a seizure. I am told that this sort of epilepsy has not been historically uncommon for creative people and I am attempting to take some comfort in that knowledge. I also deal with other strange things, which I would like to discuss at some point in case they might be somehow related.

I can think of nothing more to add, I am happy to have found this forum however and thank you in advance for any replies.

Welcome from me too. Í am Dutch and I live in Dordrecht (near Roterdam), my 13-year old special needs son is the one with epilepsy.
 
Thank you for the welcome Nakamova and Dm. I will explore around a bit. really I just have some very strange and semi-regular experiences and have for many years now. I'm just hoping to find some answers I suppose. I dealt with weird stuff for years before there was any sign of epilepsy. anyway thanks again :)

I have temporal lobe epilepsy and although I don't come from a line of inventors or artists, I do find writing poetry a way to fight off the "demons", those strange experiences we've experienced with TLE.

Thank you Cint :) I appreciate the encouragement. I'd like to talk more about the so called Auras that occur preceding a seizure...or sometimes I guess without one at least in my experience. Part of the reason why i decided to join this forum is that I really just don't understand where all this strangeness I deal with comes from and post diagnosis I thought maybe I could find some answers now.

so if there is a specific part of the forum for discussing Seizure Auras let me know :)
 
Welcome! I'm always so full of questions about auras as well. I have temporal lobe epilepsy and I get very strange auras, though they change sometimes. I write a lot about it (as do many people) in the Kitchen forum :)

Or just ask a question on what ever you are trying find answers to.

Everone here is so understanding and willing to share what they have gone through.
