So, I have been having symptoms/weird things going on for over 6 years, but in the last 2 years it has become more frequent, happening every 3-4 months until the neurologist started me on keppra, went 6 months without an episode, increased the dose a little and 9 months without an episode, now I just started into an episode. But this is how it goes for me...I will started feeling not quite right, then the numbness and tingling starts and the itching all over my body (this will go on over a couple days), then I start having trouble remembering things, and get deja vu feelings of it happening all over again, I may have vision issues, smelling/taste issues, pressure in my head, headaches, but this will go on for days or weeks until it ends...does anyone else have simple partial seizures like this? It seems like from what I read, it only happens for a short period during 1 day, but mine lasts for a long time that I don't feel quite right...

OPINIONS APPRECIATED...
My MRI's have all been normal, EEG's are always abnormal (although not descriptive as to why)...Neurologist thinks simple partial seizures since I have done better on Keppra...

I just want to feel like me again!!!!! FEELING FRUSTRATED AND LOST

Hi butlerbunch,

What you describe sounds like migraines and/or simple partials. I agree with your doc -- since the keppra helped, simple partials seems more likely. It is unusual for the symptoms to last for so long. Do you get any relief at all while it's going on? Does it come in waves? Are you able to sleep?

I am able to sleep, and actually don't feel well unless I sleep 9 or 10 hours. It does seem to come in waves, and I have temporary relief during the day, but overall feel not right...now I am feeling particularly low about this episode, hope it doesn't last long!

Let your neuro know -- it sounds like it's time to review your dose/medication so you can get better seizure control.
