A construction worker for Habitat for Humanity. We have a charity parade at work. I once volunteered for H4H, partially cuz we had to write about various civic organizations at work, partially cuz I met some interesting people, partially cuz it relieved stress. (Bang around with a hammer for a while.)

You are absolutely right about the stress reliever (hammer). Any good physical exertion can really help stress.

You are cool because you combined it with helping a charity. :woot:

OK I was dressed up with my usual western
outfit gear, nothing out of the ordinary ...
but people were saying ...

THAT was a COSTUME???

Then I grabbed a HAMMER ... and said
"I'm dressed now as "ARM AND HAMMER" ..."

(Arm and Hammer - Baking Soda)

And people were cracking up, a couple of
them wanted my meds to be checked out!

:roflmao:

Shelley:

You could have walked around with a quarter
and a hammer - and told people you were
a QUARTER POUNDER!

:D

OR

Holding a Cheese and Quarter with a Hammer,
You'd be a Quarter Pounder with Cheese!

;)

Hmmm...?

:ponder:
Wait till next year.

But without the cheese.

Yeah we have Halloween in England, My kids school do a halloween dress-up disco, and then we go trick or treating. There is a guy round the corner from us who carves the most AMAZING pumpkins. He's done castles, witches on broomsticks, spiders, vampires, a mummy and even a brilliant one of Steve Irwin the halloween after he died. I will try to dig out my old photo's and get some loaded on. (Still very technologically inept lol). The teenagers are terrible though. When they go trick or treating, if they don't get sweets, or even if there's no-one in, or an old person inside who is afraid to answer the door, the 'normal' trick over here is to throw eggs and then flour at the door. We have a lot of community police officers going round confiscating eggs and flour from the teenagers, and for a week before halloween here, the supermarkets refuse to sell either eggs or flour to anyone under the age of 16!! Last year my kids dressed up as a lady vampire (my daughter was insistent she was the queen of the undead), a wizard and frankenstein and I was a devil. Not sure yet what they will be this year. I am going as a mummy (which has the kids in stitches as I will be a mummy Mummy lol).

Long story ... but funny.

A few years ago at a benefit dance/auction, we bought a two hour ride in a Limo for 8 people. It was mostly to make a donation, but then we couldn't figure out where to take the ride. So when it got close to Halloween, we decided to go 'Trick or Drinking'. We all dressed up in costumes and had the limo take us to the houses of several of our friends and relatives. We would stop in for a drink and then move on to the next place. It was great seeing the surprised look on everyone's faces when we pulled up in a limo. Other people were shocked to see what was getting out of the back of the limo. What a great night. The limo driver said she had never had so much fun.

Look at what they do with their pumpkins in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Those are giant pumpkins they're paddling in.
