Hello, I'm gust getting started here. Having one of those bad days we all fight to cope with. I set up a referral to an epileptologist today because my seizures have progressed to near-fatal. I had to be intubated for breathing problems (apparently I stopped doing so & it's required to do so) during a seizure about a week ago. I wasn't home for even two days when my daughter had a probable petit mal, falling down the stairs. I'm hoping to find friends, know if anyone has a vagal nerve implant, and find options to discuss with my doctor. My epilepsy is a real turkey. Multi focal, multi trigger, and rather stubborn about responding to meds (on Trilipeptal and Lamictal, Keppra gorks me out)

Hi wynndsong, welcome!

You've come to the right place, lost of folks here at CWE who can relate to all the "fun stuff" that comes with e.

And there are a number of folks with the VNS. Birdbomb here is the resident VNS Guru and runs a VNS board:

I hope that you are recovering for your horrific recent seizure, and that your epileptologist is able to help.

Best,
Nakamova
