On Keppra for nearly 2 years with good results. Taking a high dose at 5000 mg/day and had a recent breakthrough. Any feedback from others with a like experience and what was done to stabilize, is appreciated.

Welcome dmacs

I've been on Keppra but only for a short while as the side-effects on me were overbearing.

Even though I've never gone as long as you without a seizure (I'm still trying to break my record of 1 week), I do think that if you've only had 1 breakthrough seizure then maybe you should wait & see if it's an isolated incident. If it is then the Keppra is obviously working. Even with good results people seem to still have the odd breakthrough seizure. However if you have any more I would contact your neurologist & see what they say as it might be time to try a new med.

Also, I Moved your post from the "general issues" room because it's more for technical issues re. the site to the foyer so that everyone can welcome you here & hopefully give you some helpful advice.
