My daughter has night seizures. I've been researching something she could wear to alert us during the night. I came across Empatica the Embrace Watch. Does anyone have experience with this? Good or bad. Or possibly any other suggestions. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 😊

Hey Brandi--

How old is your daughter? What kind of seizures does she have?

Some systems monitor movement and others, like the Empatica Watch, monitor physiological seizure markers:
Below is a link to the the Empatica for those who may be unfamiliar with it:
https://www.empatica.com/embrace-watch-epilepsy-monitor
and for a similar smartwatch system: http://bio-lert.com/bio-lert-solution/

The two systems that I've heard about that monitor motion seem to be available in Europe only. :(

One more system to consider: https://www.samialert.com/
It uses a camera monitoring device and sends an alert to iOs device when unusual activity is detected.

best of luck and keep us posted.

Hi Brandi,

If I may ask has your daughter had a sleep study done along with an e.e.g. at the same time? This is what I had done to find out what time of the night I was having seizures then my Dr. put me on vimpat and the myoclonic seizures stopped.
I've heard about the watch but I'm sorry to say I don't know how it works you may want to check out the Cleveland Clinic neuro dept. they may be able to give you some info. Here's wishing you and your daughter the best of luck and May God Bless You Both!
