It has admazed me how often people say their EEg is normal and doctors tell them they are normal.:soap: All of us will have an EEG "in the range of normal", I hate that statement, unless we have a seizure while we are being tested. Unless you get lucky and have a seizure during the test. With a monitored EEG you will be wired as for a normnal EEG. You will stay wired until you have had seizures, yes seizures not just one. You will be admitted to hospital, it will have to be one with an epilepsy clinic, and monitoreduntil you have had seizures, you will also be monitored on vidio camera. To induce seizures they will wean you off your meds, deprive you of sleep or what ever you trigger may be. When your seizure focus is located; if it is localized you may have to under go the proccedure again, this time with the leeds laided directly on surface of brain. Information gained will allow doctors to decide if your seizures can be reduced or eliminated with surgery. I had this done 7 years ago. My seizure focus is too near the hipocampus, a seahorse shapped structure in the brsain that lays down memory and there can be NO injury to this area. Existing memories would not be affected; but you could not lay down new ones.
