I would like to take this time to help other people with Epilepsy understand it a bit better and let them know my experiences both good and bad. I have pictures from when I spent a month in the hospital due to my epilepsy and after that I had to end up shaving my head because I was loosing my hair. The only way others can understand that they are not alone on this is to see that others have gone through the same thing. Hence my decision to do these write ups and let others know what I have gone through will help I do believe. Look through the pictures that are epilepsy awareness to see things I have gone through . I have pictures of when I was in the hospital with the eeg. leads on my head for a month. A year ago I had what they called Todd’s paralysis. During this time I spent almost 100% of my time in bed not able to move my left side plus both of my legs. I went from that to slowly walking with a walker and then walking on my own. I would like to let everyone know that if it wasnt for my cousin and his helping me during this time I would not be here as he came over to the apartment to make sure I had food and drinks. He did this for the full time I was not able to feel my left side and feel my legs.

Hi lglvdb --

Congrats on recovering from the paralysis and getting back on your feet. I know that's not an easy thing. It's great that you had your cousin for support -- someone like that can make all the difference.

Hello -- thanks for sharing your story. You have been through so much.

Take care:e:

I am very grateful to be back on my feet and want to let other people know that it can be done. To see me a year ago til now is like night and day. Thats why I wanted to do a quick note on here to let people know that it can be done with a lot of work and I had to be very very stubborn......

I dont know if anyone has heard anything about animals warning about seizures but I have a cat that I have had since it was a kitten and it actually will warn me and make me lay down before a seizure.

lglvdb ,

Thanks, for sharing your story and a telling us about the cool kitty! You are an inspiration to me and remind me of my little girl who keeps doing things that docs and teachers keep saying she cant do. Like read and ride a bike (she scoots and balances rolling a few feet at a time) can't get her brain to understand pedaling yet. People like you are so beautiful!

Keep on striving to do what makes you happy and a I am so happy you are doing better than you were what a fighter! Tell your cousin thanks from me, for showing what love is!

John
