I used to have a lot of them, generally 2 sets of them a day lasting for about an hour, about 3 times a week they would turn into a full seizure.
During this time I wouldn't leave the house incase I got ill out in public.

This new medication was better, and I started to do more stuff and get in contact with friends again, I was still Jerking everyday, but it was mostly first thing in the morning - seizures once a week.
It was manageable.

Now they're back.

I know everyone is different, but does anyone have any tips on how to stop them? Or slow them when they've taken hold?
I think yoga/relaxation exercises help, but it isn't feasible with my lifestyle to be doing this everyday.

It's childish, but I was really looking forward to a party at new years, and now I am worried about going because it is happening so often.

Hi Zara,

If you haven't tried it put some coconut oil on your skin I do it 1-2 times a day and put the oil on my legs and feet this in turn builds up ketones in my body which reduces the seizures. Another thing that has worked great for me you may want to try is medical marijuana CBD oil I buy it on line in a mouth spray and squirt it once a day in my mouth and it has reduced the seizures greatly. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Sue

CBD didn't work for me, and was too expensive.
I haven't heard of the coconut oil thing, I will try it though. Thankyou

No guarantee of results, but worth trying: Taking a magnesium supplement, twice a day with meals and/or before bedtime. I don't get myoclonic jerks, but I've found that an mg supplement helps with the Restless Leg Syndrome which I occasionally experience at night. (Magnesium plays a role in relaxing muscles throughout the body; as a result it can potentially help with things like RLS, tics, jerks, cramps and even high blood pressure, since the heart is a muscle too.)

There are any varieties of magnesium supplements; I recommend magnesium glycinate -- it's well absorbed, and doesn't affect digestion. I use the Nutraganix brand: https://www.amazon.com/Magnesium-Gl...r=1-1&keywords=magnesium+glycinate+Nutraganix

This may not be true for you, but I have myoclonic jerks when I am drowsy or sleepy. Sometimes I don't know I am sleepy until I start having the jerks. I have to try to wake myself up a little bit to get them to stop.

I will try the magnesium, Thankyou.

I do get them when I am sleepy, however it isn't something that can be avoided, I am generally getting full night sleeps just bad quality sleep.
So I always seem to be tired :(
