I am a 32 year old Caucasian female and I'm not sure if I have been having seizures or not... I am prone to migraines so I am always getting auras but this morning I had a scare that was not at all usual for me. I woke at 5:30 this morning and turned my alarm off (I was feeling fine) and went back to sleep. My second alarm went off at 6 and this time when I woke up my eyes were jerking and twitching, I jumped out of bed and tried to use the bathroom but I kept losing my balance. I made it back to bed and it felt as if the whole room was spinning. This lasted about 30 minutes and afterwards I was very shaky and weak. Now it is 1:30 and I am still weak and I have a lot of pressure in my head like I am getting a migraine. Any information would be appreciated! Thank you!!

If it is epileptic related then it sounds myoclonic, but have you tried eating anything?

I had someone being me to my parents house and I had breakfast and lunch, took my Klonopin, and still feel very weak and tired. I was told that about 5 times last night I would go rigid and start shaking but they thought I was having bad dreams (I don't recall any of it)... I really don't know what is going on but it scares me

Hi jenna --

Worth calling your doc about, and getting a referral to a neurologist. Migraines and epilepsy can be very similar, and many people get them both. The spasms and twitching tend to fall in the epilepsy category, but it's possible that something else is going on. Have you been under any unusual physical, physiological, or emotional stress lately? Any extremes of behavior or diet? Have there been any patterns to your migraines (ie.. tied to your cycle, or to sleep or eating habits)?
