Good Morning!
My name is Beky and I'm new here. I was checking out sites this morning aobut a new symptom and came across you in my internet travels and I was definintely compelled to join!
I've had E for quite some time and have been living with it without too much trouble. Memory is a definite issue but....hey.....it makes me interesting and a hit at parties! It's an annoyance at best and troublesome for my job at worst.
I work from home in a virtual call center so that is cool! I love that I can still be with my children yet be at work. The other thing is that they work with me when it comes to my E so I couldn't ask for better!
Brain surgery was on my list of things to do until recently when the little bugger crossed hemispheres and disqualified me...oh well. I'm fairly well controlled with Trileptal and Klonipin.
Driving is still not allowed and it sometimes feels more like house arrest but it gives me very cool excuses to go out with my friends on their errands. I did get the nod from the neuro for a 5 mile driving permission.....hmmm....one of my friends is a police officer here in Tampa and he asked me "so does that mean you get 5 miles and then you have to take an hour break or what??" ROFL!! I don't have a car so it doesn't even matter but it feels nice to just HAVE IT. Baby steps.
I keep a strong sense of humor.....best medicine in the world!
Nice to meet all of you!

Hi Beky, welcome to CWE!

Feel free to explore all the forums and thread, and add your own comments or questions.

I've never heard of a neurologist giving a "5 mile driving permission" -- it's nice, but seems counterintuitive -- either you're considered legally safe behind the wheel or you aren't...

Anyway, you sound like you are in a good phase in terms of coping with your E, always good to hear.

Best,
Nakamova

My point exactly, Nakamova! With the "hmmm" I was questioning the logic and my friend was definitely wondering where it came from. I refuse to drive and sold my car....keeps me off the streets and out of trouble.
Thanks for the warm welcome!!! I'm browsing around now and am finding many posts informative.
You have to stay positive.....It's the best coping mechanism out there!!
