Well not much to say, During the Iraq invasion in 2003 I suffered a TBI that brought a 22 year Marine Corps career to an end. Spent a few years (2) recovering and was retired. When I was first recovering my wife told the Navy Dr that I was having seizures in my sleep, and he told her basically that she didn't know what she was talking about. So I being the hard headed USMC type didn't listen to her and told her the Dr said she was wrong. Well after a few years I started another Job working for the USMC as a Civilian and some of my friends and a co-worker that has a daughter that has epilepsy told me that I was having Absence seizures at work. Finally after a lot of begging from my wife I went to the Dr, he sent me to a neurologist. They did a 24 hour EEG and I was supposed to see him again in 2 weeks, he called me the next day and asked me to come in, told me that the EEG was all over the place and started me on Keppra. That was 2 months ago and according to her the seizures have gone from a few a hight to maybe 1 to 2 a week, so guess its working.
Still trying to adjust to all this.

Welcome to our abode Ericsonmj,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for serving in the USMC and doing your duty. I'm sorry to hear you suffered a TBI during the invasion, something that seems to happen often and the public needs to be aware of. I hope you receive the proper care to keep the seizures under control.

Welcome to the site

Sorry to hear about your injury. You seem very lucky to have someone who looks out for you.

Make yourself at home & check out all the nooks & crannies here. There's some pretty helpful stuff.

Thanks everyone, I'm kinda new at this "Forum" stuff but trying to educate myself as much as possible about everything I can.

Hi, Ericksonmj,

Welcome!

I'm so sorry to hear about your TBI and seizures. Thank you so much for your service to our country - you were out there keeping us safe and I'm so grateful to you for that.

I'm glad you are on Keppra, and that your seizures are under control. How are you feeling on the Keppra? There's lots in here about it. People find vitamin B helps with the mood swings.

Hang in there.
