Hello! I'm new to this website, I have been diagnosed with absence epilepsy since I was six years old. I just really need someone to talk to that also has epilepsy. I've never spoken/met/chatted to anyone that also has it. I just feel very alone and scared :(

Hi Janellie8 and welcome to CWE! The lovely thing about this forum is you never have to feel alone :) There are lots of articles and information as well as a ton of support. I thank my lucky stars I found this site and I hope you come to feel the same way.

Thank you so much!! I have read some articles and other people's experiences and it makes me feel like I'm not alone, some I can even relate to. Thanks for commenting and making me feel welcomed.

Hugs,
Janellie Pruneda:hugs:

You're going to love this web site, I know I have.

It's great to find out that there are so many people that are going through the same things that you are and what they do to deal with them.

I've learned so much since I joined. I joined 3 years ago, after having epilepsy for 7 years, and you can't believe how much more I know about epilepsy now. You can get answers from your dr about questions that you have but it's nothing like getting answers from people who are dealing with it themselves.

It's wonderful to be able to give and get answers.

Glad to meet you!

Hi! So far this website has given me hope and reassurance :) I hope to make great relationships through this site and to learn more about what's going on with me. It means so much that you have taken the time to respond to me:) thanks!! Hope I hear more from you!!

Hugs,
Janellie

Hi Janellie, welcome to the forum. :hello:

My wife used to have multiple, daily absence seizures. She hasn't had one in over a decade now though - not since she used EEG Neurofeedback the first time and managed to eliminate all seizures for a glorious 4 years.

Based upon her experience, I'd recommend investigating EEG neurofeedback for retraining your brain and hopefully eliminating the seizures (there is no guarantee that your results would be the same as my wife's, of course).

Welcome to CWE! It is a gem of a site! I cannot sing enough praises after having found this site. I wish you the best.

:)

Bernard!! I'm so happy for your wife:)! I also have multiple absence seizures in the day...mostly in the night though. I will definatly look into EEG neurofeedback!! Thank you for the welcoming:)
