Hi Phill
Welcome to CWE, you'll find this a great place with a lot of friendly people who have some great information & stories.

I had my 1st tonic clonic when I was 9 months old & took TC seizures on a regular basis until I was about 3. I went 21 years seizure free until my seizures returned in 2002 & I started taking complex/partials. I had surgery on my left temporal lobe 3 years ago Today, since then my seizures have been under control but I am still on medication.

I don't remember anything about my epilepsy as a baby but from what I understand there was very little known about epilepsy back then as there was no where near as much research done as there is now.
Unfortunately though there are still a real lot of people who know nothing about epilepsy & need some serious educating in it eg epilepsy isn't contagious & just because you have epilepsy it doesn't mean you thrash on the ground.

hi thanks for the welcome i am sure their are plenty of good people here just to explain about myself well i have no memory of anything that happened before the age of 10 all those memories are long gone which is quite sad i have a few memories of my grandparents but nothing about my early childhood lucky my brothers and sisters have memories and they tell me about my childhood chat soon
