Hi there,

I'm new here. I just stumbled across this message board last night when researching about dilantin and it's long term effects, and the possiblity of a seizure when being switched to a different medication. But this isn't the correct thread to ask those questions. However...since it concerns vaccines I'll add my 2 cents.

I was about 5 when I was diagnosed with having petit mal or absense seizures and my mother (who was a nurse) told me that my Dr said it was a result of my MMR vaccine. That was over 40 years ago so this is definately not something new. They've known or suspected it for years but have continued to assault the neurological systems (and others as well) of our children with vaccine after vaccine.

When I was young I was on phenobarb for 3 or 4 years and then was taken off it, but a few years later my grandmother's death was very traumatic for me and the absense seizures returned and I've been on meds since.

I'm far luckier than most. I've only had one grand mal in my life and that's when I quit taking meds because I was a 20 year old who thought I no longer needed them. So much for that. I've never had another grand mal. But I've never quit taking them either.

I was asked to do volunteer work on the bone marrow unit of a children's hospital but they said I either needed proof of my childhood vaccines which I unfortunately don't have and can't seem to locate if such records are stored somewhere when a Dr retires. And I refuse to have another MMR. I didn't ask if they would accept a titer test. Maybe they would.

I don't even vaccinate my dogs anymore other than a puppy shot. I thought I was being very responsible with my older dog with routine vaccs, etc...but she has had multiple chronic illnesses since she was 4 years old, and now a neurological issue. It only took me 7 years of vaccine after vaccine, but at least I learned and stopped there. It didn't even occur that they damage dogs as well as humans. : (

As I said, I have questions for another thread, like switching off dilantin to another drug, which I am hesitant to do because "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" but my Dr feels dilantin poses health risks and that there are safer medications, what can trigger or aggrivate, (caffeine, aspartame?) but that's for another thread.

Thanks for listening and sorry for the rambling.

Hi Golden Girl -
Welcome to CWE!!

Smart Doctor 40 yrs ago. I have also been concerned about my cats and vaccines. I have learned a lot by reading:

www.dogtorj.com

He talks a lot about viruses, seizures, diet etc.
Thanks for sharing your story.
I am going to move it to the Foyer, so that others can welcome you too.

Welcome!

Hi and welcome to CWE. I am sure you will see in other threads that I am not a big fan of vaccines either. The problem for the medical community and even the CDC is that all the good things they do may come undone if they ever fully admit to the problems caused by vaccines.

My favorite question to them is "If thermisol (mercury based) was not a problem in vaccines, why was it removed?"

Anyway, welcome to our house. Visit often. I usually have a hot cup of coffee waiting.

Hi golden girl, welcome to the forum. :hello:

Perhaps some day people will look back on our society and consider our use of vaccines like we view the medieval use of leeches.
