My son is 20 years old and has epilepsy. I must admit that the side effects from his meds makes it very stressful at times. I am looking for ways to deal with a lot of this as well as finding some possible people, his age, that may want to converse with him. He has a hard time talking to people that he meets, but is fine with electronic type communication. His side effects of meds have really lowered his self esteem. I guess that is it, and look forward to reading up on the many issues we all deal with every day. God Bless !!

Hi, u1357
Welcome to CWE! Tell your son that this is a great place to "talk" to people who share his frustrations and discuss issues he has encountered as a person with epilepsy. And of course, you are more than welcome here as well!

Hi u1357,

Welcome to CWE! Everyone here is a great friend and has been a great help to me and I've had epilepsy for 44 yrs. now but I still learn something new all the time. I wish you and your son only the best and May God Bless the Both of You!

Thank you all very much. I look forward to learning from every one of you. I am trying to get my son to join the group as well. I think that you all could be very helpful to him as well. Thanks again, and you all have a good day. God Bless.

Hello and welcome!
I don't have an "official diagnosis"; my neuro has epilepsy and migraines as the differential but I am 19. I know there are a lot of older teens and young adults his age on Instagram. If he searches #epilepsy then he will find them easily. Also if you have Epilepsy Foundation events near you then I would check them out since he may find someone his age. There is also an annual Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland and that's another place your son can meet others his age with epilepsy. Great if you're in the area.
